How often should you replace your Ortho-buddy or toothbrush?
Your Ortho-buddy /toothbrush should be replaced every three to four months or more often if the bristles become matted or frayed. The effective ness of the brush decreases as the bristles become worn. These guidelines are taken from the ADA - American Dental Association.
Worn out bristles tend to be more abrasive on your gums, which can lead to premature gum recession and inflammation in your gums.
The American Dental Association also recommends changing your brush head every 3 months to prevent bacteria from building up in the bristles, affecting your oral health and general well-being.
Set a reminder on your phone’s calendar to replace your brush or make sure you buy multiple brushes as a time, so you have some handy and ready to replace the old ones!
